Juli Hale arranged for Sandi Wilder and Jeff Baker to come to speak about the Relay for Life of Campbell County, an American Cancer Society event that will be held in July at Newport High School. Both Sandi and Jeff are members of the RFL committee and will detail how we, as either a group or individuals, can get involved in the program. Friday, April 11. Jerry Schneider spoke about Habitat for Humanity. Friday, April 4. Arnd Rehfuss spoke.

Friday, March 21. Les Crooks, General Manager, representing The Bank of Kentucky Center being constructed at Northern Kentucky University will spoke. The center will be the tri-state’s NEWEST, full service arena that will feature concerts, family shows, and sporting events as well as play home to NKU’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Friday, March 14 Rob Deger invited Linda Young, executive director of Welcome House in Covington to speak. She presented on the various programs at Welcome House which include providing aid to homeless individuals and families.
Friday, Mar. 7. Mike Desmond planned Mr. Lynn Cameron from Big Brothers/ Big Sisters program to speak to the club about how/who their program helps and how individuals can get involved with mentoring in the community. Unfortunately 10 inches of snow canceled the day.
Friday, Feb. 29. No meeting held. The InterClub meeting on Tuesday, February 26 counted as a make up.
Friday, Feb. 22. Ed Burk invited Ken Knipper, Emergency Mgmt Director for the Campbell County Fiscal Court to speak. The topic was: Disaster Emergency Mgmt. There is a disaster plan that has resources in it. It was interesting to see how they can coordinate disasters and rescues throughout the whole country. Friday, Feb. 15. Jim Bowman's speaker was Charles Eaton who is a heart transplant recipient and who spoke to our club previously. He spoke at the Roadhouse and was able to secure several members' signatures on "organ donor forms." Charles lives in Fort Thomas and is a retired cosmetologist. Friday, Feb. 8. Mike Bisbe introduced Beth Baran of Carlson Travel to show us pictures and talk about some hot spots to vacation. Friday, Feb. 1 Carole Graff invited the speaker. Her church sponsors the IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northern Kentucky) on a rotation basis. Ron Hill is the coordinator from our church, Asbury UMC, spoke. Ron discussed an alternative spring break program that takes NKU students to Mexico. The group goes to Mazamitla to participate in community service work. Friday, Jan. 18. Wayne Gurley introduced the Chief of Alexandria Police Dept Mike Ward and Lt George Schreiner. They spoke about the "Teen Driving Program" that offers classroom and on the road training to new drivers, teaching them defensive driving skills. The program depends on donations for the cost of the equipment, supplies and salary. Friday, Jan 11. Linda Stapleton introduced Donn Mettens, DMD. His topic was: SARA (Sharing America’s Resources Abroad). SARA is a non-denominational Christian ministry offering medical assistance to improve lives around the world. They take a lot of medical supplies and equipment to help people. He is a dentist who is located in Highland Heights. Friday, Jan. 4. Jennifer Suttles introduced Mike and Brad Bach from Michael P. Bach, PSC. A father/son Campbell County CPA firm and spoke about the new tax law. This interested everyone. Friday, Dec. 28. No meeting. No makeup required. Friday, Dec. 21. A Club Assembly. The topic was "Planning for the New Year".
Friday, Dec. 14. Our Christmas Party was held at noon. We will not have a speaker but enjoyed fellowship, a gift exchange and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year..

Friday, Dec. 7. Juli Hale asked Matt Coleman, senior health educator with the N. Ky. Independent Health District to speak. He spoke about northern Kentucky Action, a coalition that advocates for smoke free air and the benefits of smoke free air to society..

Friday, Nov. 9. Mick Vank's speaker was DJ Scully, of the UK Extension Office. He spoke about new building at A J Jolly Park in southern Campbell County, the Environmental Education Center. DJ is the Director of Education and discussed the mission of the center and what is available there. He is a ten year veteran of the Extension Service and resides in Ft Thomas.
Friday, November 2. Ed Burk invited Shelia Bogen who introduced us to the City of Cold Spring "Adopt a Troop" program. She explained the how many pounds of treats for the troops are acquired and delivered to Iraq to give the troops a helping hand and a morale boost..
Friday, October 26. Jerry Hodges led a New Member Orientation featuring an informative PowerPoint presentation. Highlights of the presentation included: the history of Rotary, the history of the Campbell County Rotary Club, and world changing service projects that Rotarians have led. Jerry also presented two short videos that featured Rotarian efforts in fighting Polio.
Friday, October 19. Jim Bowman introduced Judy Schneider. Judy manages the St. Elizabeth Hospice program. Judy explained the beginnings of Hospice and how it has evolved to the wonderful level of help it provides to families today.
Friday, October 12. Governor Tom Ashford made his official visit to our club. He met with the Board of Directors and passed a great deal of Rotary information and many compliments about our club operation and projects during his presentation.

Friday, September 21. Linda Stapleton invited Chris Wulfeck with the Ft. Thomas Fire Department who spoke about stroke, heart attack and the use of electrical shock (defibrillators) as an emergency treatment.

Friday, September 14. Our second meeting at Barleycorns and again most every seat was filled. Jerry Schneider introduced PDG Bill Perrine who spoke about the Rotary Council of Legislation and Youth Exchange.
Friday, September 7. Our first meeting at Barleycorns. PDG Gary Stewart and immediate Past President of the Florence Rotary Club was our guest speaker. Gary spoke about building membership (August was Membership Month) and planning for a concert fundraising event. Membership turnout was great, nearly every seat was filled...GOOD JOB !!
Monday, August 27. An Interclub meeting was held at the Airport Hilton on Turfway Road in Florence. Senator Mitch McConnell http://mcconnell.senate.gov/ was the guest speaker. Each Northern Kentucky club was well represented and each club president provided some highlights about their respective clunb.

Wednesday, August 15. Viki Kimball and her awesome students who taught the Kids Culture Camp this summer visited us to present on the Culture Camp and how the culture was shared and acted upon by the students.

No meeting was held between Christmas and New Years day. Wednesday, December 20. President Rob introduced Karkie Tackett, the executive director of the Area Health Education Center. She spoke about the center and their partnership with our club to implement the Blane Grant project. Wednesday, December 14. A Christmas party with family members at the Marquis. An evening of fun, celebration, good fellowship and surprise gifts. Wednesday, December 13. The regular meeting at the Roadhouse is cancelled. It was replaced by our annual Christmas party on Thursday, December 14 at the Marquis in Wilder. Wednesday, December 6. The officers for 2007-2008 were elected and the club bylaws were approved. Our own Gary Barlow was our program speaker describing the real estate market in our area. Wednesday, November 29. Nomination of officers for the 2007-2008 Rotary year was held. The election of officers by ballot and a vote on adoption of our club bylaws will be held on December 6 at our regular meeting. Tracie Schultz introduced Ed Mastraen with KET as our program speaker. Wednesday, November 22. Viki Kimball presented a presentation with slides of her recent trip to India. Wednesday, November 15. A board meeting was held at 10.30 am at the Syndicate. A regular meeting afterward. The program was "Connecting Hearts Home Care" with Sue Henderson and her daughter Lisa Dasti presenting. Saturday, November 11, 6:30 pm. The Help 2 International Gala was held at the Syndicate. It is a great success story for both the YMCA and The Rotary. Hats off to all the chairpersons and volunteers. And lets not forget our auction donors and the patrons that supported the event. Thanks everyone!!!!! Wednesday, November 8. A "Help 2 " readiness meeting was held at the Syndicate. A box lunch was provided for everyone. Brad Kinkema provided a review of the layout the event, the time schedule for dinner and the auctions. The role that volunteers assist with were reviewed. the Syndicate donated a table of 10 to an upcoming show at a value of $500.00 for one of our auctions. Wednesday, November 1. Wednesday, October 11. State Representative Joe Fisher was introduced by Marianne Schmidt-Hurtt. He spoke about his family, education and his views and involvement in the political arena. Wednesday, October 4. Board members met at 10:30 for a board meeting before the "Club Business Meeting". There was no speaker at the luncheon meeting. Club business only. Wednesday, September 27. Joy Hodges invited Dr. Mark Franzen, Chiropractor to speak. He spoke about the importance of exercise, diet, and a healthy bone structure relate to our well being and the role chiropractic can play. Wednesday, September 20. Larry Stinson introduced his speaker Ed Long. Ed spoke about the robotics competition team at Highlands High School. The team, affiliated with P&G, has been quite successful and the robotics program has expanded into the middle and elementary schools. Wednesday, September 13. Mike Bisbe introduced David Miller who spoke about One Stop-Gateway and how both businesses and prospective employees can be helped by Gateway at no or little costs to each. Wednesday, September 6. A Board Meeting was held before the regular meeting at 10:30. At our regular meeting Joyce Russell introduced Andrew Martin who spoke about "Crossing the Red Sea". Wednesday, August 30. Arnd Rehfuss introduced Alexandria Mayor Dan McGinley who spoke about the preparation for growth Alexandria has made for the new construction boom predicted when the new sewage plant is operational next year. Saturday, August 26. The 2nd "annual "Rotary Family Picnic" was held at the Hodges home. Fun and fellowship were shared by all who were able to attend. Wednesday, August 23. District Governor Joe Caldwell visited our club and was our guest speaker. Governor Joe met with the Board at 11 am before the regular meeting. Wednesday, August 16. Jerry Hodges guest speaker was Kevin Loesch, Optometrist. Dr. Loesch took us on a guided tour of the eye and answered a great many questions about our sight. Wednesday, August 9. Linda Klembara, running for State Representative was Don Gilchrist's guest speaker. She presented her views of what needs in our district should be addressed in Frankfort. Wednesday, August 2. Joyce Russell introduced Jonathan Marshall with Divinity Group-Life Consultants. Jonathan is a LIFE CONSULTANT with Divinity and explained the resources his firm offers to clients, especially folks over 55. Wednesday, July 26. Dave Malone, the General Manager of TANK was our guest speaker. He presented an informative overview of TANK services and the value TANK adds to Northern Kentucky. Wednesday, July 19. Crime Stoppers and Cold Spring Police Chief Ed Burk. We had WCPO media coverage for the check our club presented to Crime Stoppers. Chief Ed was installed as our newest member and he rounded out our program speaking about his role as the new Chief of Police. Wednesday, July 12. Tracie Schuoltz introduced Judy Gerding with the Point who updated the club on group housing in Alexandria. Wednesday, July 5. Joyce Russell was introduced as our speaker. Joyce brought the race to a close and presented Arnd Rehfuss and Don Gilchrist their prize of tickets to the movies to see the movie “Cars”. Wednesday, June 28. Our new officers were installed by Assistant Governor Willard Rusk for the 2006-2007 Rotary year and will serve from July 1, 2006 till June 30, 2007. In addition to the "Installation of Officers" two new members were officially installed and presented their Rotary lapel pin. Five persons will be recognized as "Paul Harris Fellows". Wednesday, June 21. Captain Mike Morales with the Salvation Army spoke.
Capt. Mike Morales was born and raised in the Cincinnati area, mostly
in New Richmond, Ohio. He attended Asbury College in Lexington, KY
and it was there he was introduced to The Salvation Army. Mike
stopped going to college to marry his present wife, Dianna and join
the Air Force where he spent 7 years in service both in country and
overseas. Presently, Mike has two sons; Joshua, who just graduated
Boone County High school and going to college in the fall and Zack who
is a sophomore in Boone County High.
Capt. Mike was ordained as a minister for The Salvation
Army in June of 2001 and was commissioned and appointed to The
Salvation Army in Newport, where he still serves today.
Wednesday, June 14. Viki invited Steve Meier from NKU who spoke on plans for expansion. He is the Associate Dean of Students. The construction programs include a 9000 spectator capacity multi use arena. Wednesday, June 7. Joyce Russell introduced Chuck Kreimer with Crime Stoppers. If you missed this program you missed a lot. Chuck presented a great deal of valuable information and some reminder gifts to keep Crime Stoppers benefits on our minds. Visit http://www.crime-stoppers.us/. Wednesday, May 31 was an evening "Membership Orientation" meeting. No luncheon meeting was held. This meeting was very beneficial to our new members but also be a refresher for others. Spouses and attended. The meeting started with fellowship and refreshments at 7 pm and orientation beginning at 7:30 pm. Jerry Schneider and Jerry Hodges presented the orientation. Tracie Schultz entertained at the break with surprise comedy and singing. Joyce Russell did a great job with refreshments. The location was at the Springhouse Community Center. Wednesday, May 24. Our Teacher of the Year awards. Five teachers received recognition as "Teacher of the Year" for their dedicated service to teaching and community. Attendance at this meeting was great. Many had the opportunity to meet and applaud the very deserving recipients. Wednesday, May 17. Tony Rollins introduced Mike Bezold speaking from the Kentucky State Transportation Department about current and future road improvements in our area. Wednesday, May 10. J. C. Morgan invited Brandy Babb from the Newport Library who spoke about the Great Library's of the World Wednesday, May 3rd . Our own Viki Kimball presented a very informative program about NKU International Programs and the impact on the community. Wednesday, May 26. Ann Lightfoot, our own Rotary member presented a Power Point presentation on the business attributes of Adecco Employment Services. Wednesday, April 19. The speaker was Doug Williams, Newport Branch of the Campbell Co Library, talking about the history of Coffee! Wednesday, April 12. "The Speech Contest" was held. The winner was a young lady, Page Gardner from Newport Central Catholic. Wednesday, April 5. Mick Vank invited Mary Jo Haviland who filled us in on the new bridge climbing business going in at Newport on the Levee. Wednesday, March 29. Mike Bisbe invited Jill Isaacs from the Newport Aquarium who spoke. Wednesday, March 22. Jerry Schneider invited Sarah Collins, Executive Director with the Campbell County Housing Department who spoke about government assisted housing. Wednesday, March 15. Arnd Rehfuss introduced Betty Ponroy with the Northern Ky. Kennel Club. She spoke about how judges become judges for such shows as the Westminster. What judges look for, etc. Wednesday, March 8. A Board of Directors meeting was held at 10:30 before the regular meeting. After the regular meeting Brad Kinkema introduced a representative from Newport on the Levee who spoke to the club. Wednesday, February 22. Don Gilchrist invited Debbie Kitner Director of Programs and Education, World Affairs Council, Global Center of Greater Cincinnati who spoke about her travel experience.
Wednesday, February 15. New members were installed and received their Rotary membership lapel pin from their sponsors. Then everyone enjoyed a video of Miss America 2000, Heather French who spoke at our 2004-2005 District Conference last May about volunteerism and our veterans..
Wednesday, February 8 a Board meeting was held at 10:30. John Burkhart was our featured luncheon speaker. John is with the Laurel County Rotary club. He spoke about the Rotary District Leadership Academy.

Wednesday, January 25. A Board of Directors Meeting was held at 10:30 before the regular meeting. Jerry Daniels presented about his recent trip to China. Hope you did not miss this program.

coordinator of the HOSTS program at AD Owen Elementary.
Judy gave us a presentation on how the HOSTS program helps the children in
Campbell County, through the mentoring of adult volunteers. Several members
expressed interest in mentoring.
Wednesday, January 4. Gary Barlow brought us Joy Amann, from Huff Realty, who spoke on the Real Estate Housing Bubble. We learned a lot about the real estate industry and trends across the US. You miss a meeting, you miss a lot!
Wednesday, December 21. Jonathon Miller from KY State Treasurer's Office was our guest speaker. He spoke about the legislation that is awaiting approval to aid our armed forces supplementing their limited military income while serving our country on active duty in foreign lands.
Wednesday, December 14. No meeting was held account of the "Christmas Party" December 15th.
Thursday, December 15. A "Christmas Party" was held at the Marquise Banquet and Conference Center. Tracie Schultz arranged a very entertaining evening for everyone attending. Larry Stinson deliver a very nice Christmas season prayer and President Melissa led the pledge to our flag and the Rotary four way test. A buffet dinner that was tasty and very well presented was enjoyed by all. Two new members were inducted. Viki Kimball and Tony Rollins were presented their Rotary lapel pin by Jerry Schneider and Tracy Schultz. The two new members represent about a 20% membership gain so far this year. Then Marianne Hurtt (Mike Bisbe was ill) who chaired the fun of giving and exchanging gifts in a humorous exchange kept everyone busy with laughter throughout the hall. Tracie gathered up more gifts for the needy families and delivery of them is scheduled for Saturday, December 17. This was an evening enjoyed by all. If you missed it we hope you can make it next year.

Wednesday, November 2. Our Clubs 85th Birthday Anniversary Meeting. Joy Hodges reviewed our past 85 years and presented members with a booklet of highlight events in our early beginning and the following years. Several Past Presidents spoke about their experience as President of our club.

Wednesday, October 26. Jerry Schneider introduced Assistant Governor Willard Rusk who spoke about the Tanzania School Uniform project.
Wednesday, October 19. Marianne introduced our speaker Phil Accardi from Gateway Community & Technical College. He did a great presentation on Work Place Spanish. He offers Spanish training in several different local industries and can speak to the varying language needs among local employers. It was very interesting.

Wednesday, September 14. Rob Deger introduced Rotarian Kirk Alliman with Christian Care Communities. He presented an informative program on the folks they serve and the care they provide.
Wednesday, September 7. Don Gilchrist introduced Jeff Clark who spoke to us about "Smoke Jumping". Jeff was involved in fighting wildfires in Nevada. He presented an informative and interesting program.

Wednesday, August 31. District Governor Joe Bark visited or club for a special evening meeting at 6:30 pm at the Roadhouse. Governor Joe Bark addressed our club with a very special message. Also the "Laptop Raffle" drawing was held and the Ogden's won a great laptop computer.
Wednesday, August 24. Congressman Goeff Davis spoke. He shared his insights on several public issues, such as Social Security Reform, Transportation issues in Northern KY, the Energy Bill, and Immigration and Border Issues. Wednesday, August 17. Tracie Schultz invited PDG Julie Boudousquie to speak to us about membership. Julie led the Covington club in new member recruitment for years. She gave us many ideas about retaining and recruiting members. Wednesday, August 10. Gary Barlow invited Kevin Listerman who is the Assistant Basketball Coach at NKU to speak to the club. Kevin provided us with a lot of sports info and goings on at NKU. Wednesday, August 3. Jim Bowman introduced Mr. Mike Bisbe who is the IR for the Fort Thomas office of Edward Jones (a prospective member). He will spoke about retirement perspectives with emphasis on good financial planning. Wednesday, July 27. Tracie Schultz introduced Pamela Whitehorne w/ LINK (Literacy in Northern Kentucky). Wednesday, July 29. the Campbell County Induction Ceremony was held at the Cold Spring Roadhouse. President Melissa Pryor and the officers for the 2005-2006 Rotary year were installed by D.G. Joe Bark. Five Paul Harris awards were made and a "Volunteer of the Year" award was given to Mary Lou Schneider.Wednesday, June 22. President Ted had arranged for Joella Manella as our guest speaker. Tuesday, June 7 the Interclub meeting at Covington Radisson replaced our regular noon meeting on Wednesday, June 8. Jim Host, KY Secretary of Commerce was the guest speaker at the Interclub meeting. She spoke on Red Cross activities in general and specifically about some of the issues / challenges they have dealt with in Northern Kentucky. Wednesday, May 18 President Ted Janssen had arranged for Joella Manella as our guest speaker. She was to speak about "Carenet". She could not make the meeting. Ted conducted an important club business meeting instead. Wednesday, May 11 Melissa Pryor introduced Brad Forsythe who spoke about "How to manage a small business and risk". Wednesday, May 4 we had two speakers. Arnd Rehfuss introduced Greg Lunn from Milestone. He handled the Texas Hold 'em tournament that Arnd sat in on a couple wks. ago. He discussed Milestone, which is an equistrian program for handicapped kids and Texas Hold 'em, as a fund raising program.

He served in WW2 with an anti-aircraft artillery unit in Europe and was one of the soldiers who helped liberate the Dachau death camp. He could not understand those skeptics who seem to believe that there were no Nazi death camps or gas chambers and he told his story.

Wednesday, Dec. 22 the speaker could not make our meeting due to the weather. The members who were able to make the meeting enjoyed a nice lunch, discussion and several inches of snow to remove from their auto for their trip back to the office or home.
Thursday, Dec. 16 Lorrie Barnes hosted our annual Christmas party. Everyone shared fellowship, fine food, spirits and entertainment. Gifts were exchanged and everyone had a very nice evening. Linda Janssen was the proud winner of the "Laptop Raffle".
Wednesday Dec. 8 Lorrie Barnes speaker Mary Russel with the Character Council was the presenter. She explained the Character Councils goals to improve character in business and the workplace. The members were very interested in the Council and asked many questions about the service.

Wednesday, Nov. 3 Lynda Kilbourne was our speaker. Her Topic was "An introduction to the Campbell County Civil Air Patrol". Lynda made us aware of the great job these volunteers perform.
Wednesday, Oct. 27. A Club Meeting. Jerry Hodges presented a short Rotary video and discussion. Bob Bichlmier and Bill Dobbling were inducted as "Honorary Members".
Wednesday, Oct. 20. Circuit Court Judge candidate Greg Popovich spoke. He reviewed his record as District Court Judge and presented his qualifications for the Circuit Judge position. He answered many questions proposed by the members about the differences in Circuit and District Courts.

Wednesday Sept. 29 our District Governor Bill Crawford visited our club. He met with the Board of Directors at 11 am and was our guest speaker. He presented the club with two awards for Rotary Foundation giving. Number one in per capita giving and third in total giving.
Wednesday, Sept. 22 Steve Franzen , Circuit Court Candidate spoke. He outlined his qualifications to serve as Circuit Court Judge and answered many questions put forth by the group.

Wednesday August 4, 2004 Marianne Schmidt Hurtt introduced Mark Stober, Mayor of Cold Spring, as our guest speaker. He described the current state of events in the city and how action was being taken to meet the growth in the fastest growing community of its size in the state.
Wednesday, July 28, 2004 Don Gilchrist introduced Greg Meadows with "Crimestoppers" as our guest speaker. He gave the history of the program and related many crimes solved by the rewards they offer to the informants.
Wednesday, July 21, 2004 Rob Deger introduced our guest speaker Dorsey Jones representing Gateway Community and Technical College. Dorsey gave a brief history of the college and presented a video outlining its impact on the Northern Kentucky community.

Wednesday evening, June 30, 2004, 6:30pm at the Roadhouse a dinner meeting and installation of new officers for Rotary year 2004-2005 was held. Recognition of the past year accomplishments and Paul Harris Fellow presentations were made. There was a nice turnout to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year and a nice beginning for the new Rotary year, a year that may see Polio defeated worldwide.....
